Title: James Frazer, il cinema e “The Most Dangerous Game”
Authors: Campanile, Domitilla
Issue Date: 2017
Document Type: Article
This essay focuses on the crucial influence exercised by James Frazer’s The Golden Bough on a vast and mixed number of readers. The primary role played by this text in XXth-century literature has repeatedly been stressed, while the influence exerted by The Golden Bough on mass culture (apart from a few exceptions) appears to have gone unnoticed. By means of some examples, as well as a case study, I will outline the influence exercised by Frazer’s book on contemporary culture.
