Abstract: The problem of parasite presence on national territory is a matter of vital importance, both in terms of zoonoses and cat health. This study had the aim of updating the epidemiology of endo and ectoparasites in 84 cats in the provinces of Modena, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Piacenza, Massa Carrara and Genova, using standardized techniques in all territories, such as Mini-FLOTAC and Baermann for endoparasite investigation and ectoparasites research. The sampling of cats lasted one year and the study subjects had to meet certain criteria to be included in this research, including: being an outdoor lifestyle animal and have not undergone any antiparasites treatment during the three months prior to sampling. Within the results several risk factors related to the incidence of parasitic infestations in cats were highlighted, including: the coexistence of animals, the age and lifestyle of animals. The results show a widespread parasitosis in these territories, so it’s important to always remember the use of antiparasites products in cats in order to prevent parasitosis and improve the life of animal and consequently human life.
