The Room

Abstract

The Room è un’animazione realizzata da Marko Tadić in stop motion animation, mai completata e abbandonata dall’artista in fase di montaggio. Il video rappresenta una seduta spiritica in una stanza, o meglio quello che succede dopo che tutto sono andati via al termine di una seduta spiritica in cui non è successo nulla. Tramite l’animazione vediamo i mobili e gli oggetti muoversi, le candele consumarsi, effetti e bagliori di luce come esplosioni e l’apparizione di figure simili a giocattoli e soprammobili, fino alla chiusura in cui un piccolo gatto di ceramica osserva in primo piano la camera fissa e sullo sfondo rimane la stanza ormai distrutta.

The Room is a film created by Marko Tadić using stop motion animation technique, but it was abandoned by the artist during the editing phase. The video represents a seance, or rather what happens in the room after everyone has left. The animation reveals furniture and objects moving, candles burning down, light effects and flashes similar to explosions, and the appearance of figures - toys and knick-knacks. In the closing scene, a small pottery cat looks into the fixed camera and in the background we can see the almost destroyed room.
