The thesis is divided into three chapters; the first chapter has the function of giving an overview of the unilateral spatial negligence, where the general considerations on the syndrome, the symptoms most frequently associated with it, the theoretical interpretations (attentional and representative), the various types of negligence with spatial characteristics and a brief mention of the stimuli that have been used over the years to treat the symptoms. The second chapter brings together several studies that have been recently conducted on the neuroscientific aspects and neuroanatomical (both structural and functional) tracks involved in the onset and manifestation of NSU, the role of the two ventral and dorsal attention networks, the localization of lesions, and the study of functional connectivity in patients suffering from the syndrome. Finally, the last chapter contains the data and results of recent studies on rehabilitation techniques that have been used most in the last twenty years to intervene and alleviate the symptoms of the syndrome where there is no spontaneous recovery, such as: prismatic adaptation, non-invasive transcranial magnetic stimulation (direct and intermittent current) and virtual reality tools.
