dc.description.abstract | Perché proprio noi, sapiens sapiens, parliamo? | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Why do we, sapiens sapiens, speak? Why did we evolve this mysterious and industrious ability? Where does language come from? The present research work aims to investigate these questions and to exploit the evolutionary window to pick up fertile clues in our ancestors. The analysis on the origin of language will first proceed with the phylogeny of animal communication in different species, consequently with the identification of the different theoretical sources that have proposed hypotheses on the plausible origin of language; furthermore, by virtue of the strong evolutionary derivation advocated in the present work, morpho-functional and genetic changes that have gradually occurred and could reasonably be involved in the origin of language will be considered. Finally, in addition to providing an overview of the brain areas involved in language, the hypothesis that fuels the entire paper concerns the possibility that language may have evolved from motor resonance-mirror mechanisms that offer such a system as a "missing link" that may have equipped Homo Sapiens for a speech-ready brain. | en_US |
