Abstract

La riflessione sulla poesia è costante nell’opera di Sannazaro e permette di indagare l’orizzonte teorico e l’inesausto labor limae della sua scrittura. Sono utili a tal proposito le numerose dichiarazioni d’autore presenti nell’Arcadia e nei postumi Sonetti et canzoni: eloquenti indicazioni programmatiche che lasciano emergere una progressiva volontà di superamento della tastiera elegiaca, offrendo numerosi indizi atti a motivare la mancata pubblicazione delle rime e delle elegie.

The constant reflections on poetry in Sannazaro’s works allow us to investigate the theoretical horizon and unexhausted labor limae of his writing. In this sense, his numerous declarations of authorship that one may find in Arcadia and in his posthumous Sonetti et canzoni are quite useful as eloquent programmatic indications revealing a progressive will to go beyond the elegy and helping us to understand the reason why rhymes and elegies were not published.
