Indagine sull'identità transgender

Abstract

Alla base di questo studio vi è l’analisi dell’identità e del linguaggio transgender all’interno dei contesti narrativi. Oltre ad illustrare alcuni concetti generali sul tema del corpo e dell’identità e a riflettere su quadri psicopatologici caratterizzati dal crollo di quest’ultima, l’attenzione si è posta sulla scrittura autobiografica e trans-autobiografica (che combina narrativa autobiografica e immaginaria) di persone che, nella loro vita, hanno intrapreso un percorso di transizione. Due studi in particolare hanno rappresentato la base su cui si è fondata la ricerca: il primo, riguardante la costruzione narrativa del “vero Sé” nei transessuali, di Mason-Schrock (1996), in cui si indaga l’utilizzo delle auto-narrazioni e la costruzione collettiva dei testi all’interno della comunità transgender, al fine di inventare un convincente “vero Sé” di genere differente, mirando a soddisfare le personali esigenze di autenticità e coerenza. Il secondo studio coincide con l’analisi svolta sulla scrittura trans-autobiografica nel contesto psichiatrico ad opera di Barbieri e Musetti (2018), in cui l’autore, partendo da ricordi personali, trasforma e racconta una storia basata sulla realtà, ma contemporaneamente separata da essa, costruendo una narrativa di immaginazione e adoperando un punto di vista che si allontana da una prospettiva egocentrica che gli permette di distanziarsi dagli eventi della vita personale e alleviare così il proprio dolore. L’obiettivo di questa tesi di laurea è quello di fornire un approfondimento sul tema dell’identità transgender, mirando a proporre delle nuove chiavi di lettura del fenomeno attraverso metodologie che utilizzano l’analisi di narrazioni autobiografiche e, in particolare, trans-autobiografiche. Queste, allontanandosi dal raccontarsi in prima persona e superando i meccanismi rigidi di difesa che limitano la libera espressione del Sè, fungono da mezzi utili per indagare il modo in cui il pensiero è strutturato oltre a rappresentare una valida forma di trattamento psicoterapeutico. Tuttavia l’esigua partecipazione alla ricerca non ha permesso di ricavare sufficienti contenuti per poter approfondire le dimensioni sopra citate.

The basis of this study is the analysis of transgender identity and language within narrative contexts. In addition to illustrating some general concepts on the subject of body and identity and to reflect on psychopathological frameworks characterized by the collapse of the identity, the focus was on autobiographical and trans-autobiographical writing (combining autobiographical and imaginary narrative) of people who, in their lives, have undertaken a transitino path. Two studies in particular represented the basis on which the research was based: the first, concerning the narrative construction of the “true Self” in transsexuals, by Mason-Schrock (1996), in which the use of self-narratives is investigated and the collective construction of texts within the transgender community, in order to invent a convincing “true Self” of a different kind, aiming to satisfy the personal needs of authenticity and consistency. The second study coincides with the analysis carried out on trans-autobiographical writing in the psychiatric context by Barbieri and Musetti (2018), in which the author, starting from personal memories, transforms and tells a story based on reality, but at the same time separated from it, building a narrative of imagination and using a point of view that moves away from an egocentric perspective that allows it to distance itself from the events of personal life and thus alleviate its pain. The aim of this degree tesi i sto provide an in-depth analysis of the topic of transgender identity, aiming to propose new interpretations of the phenomenon through methods that use the analysis of autobiographical and, in particolar, trans-autobiographical narratives. These, moving away from being told in first person and overcoming the rigid defense mechanisms that limit the free expression of the Self, act as useful means to investigate the way in which thought is structured as well as representing a valid form of psychotherapeutic treatment. However, the limited participation in the research did not allow to obtain sufficient contents to be able to deepen the dimensions mentioned above.
