| it |
dc.description.abstract | Starting from Siegel's theory (2007, 2009, 2012, 2013) for which mindful awareness would use social brain circuits, we conducted a study aimed at investigating the benefits that mindfulness practice can bring about the ability to infer mental states and emotions others on school-aged children. The study was proposed to children (n = 54) of the second class of the primary school thus divided: experimental group with mindfulness treatment (n = 18), experimental group with narrative treatment (n = 20) and control group (n = 16 ). The data were collected using the following test batteries: Nepsy II (sub-test of social perception "ToM" and "AR"), Apl Medea (subtest "Fumetti") and TVSM. The study showed a significant improvement (p <0.05) in the two experimental groups in the skills of Mind Theory of decoding and interpreting the intentions of others and their points of view and in the recognition of expressions and their emotions. Furthermore, a significant improvement (p <0.05) was found in the ability to infer mental states and other people's emotions by means of the prosodic aspects of language, in the Mindfulness group. | it |
