In the following report, behaviors associated with jealousy were observed in 15 children from 8 to 15 months of age, adapting the paradigm used by Hart and collaborators (1998). The behavioral responses of the child were evaluated in the condition in which the mother and a stranger directed their attention towards three stimuli: a social stimulus (doll), a neutral stimulus (photographic album) and a second social stimulus (cloud) containing eyes and mouth, ignoring the child. With the aim of verifying whether there was jealousy at an early age, if there were behavioral changes based on the experimental setting used and if there was a relationship between temperament and behavioral manifestations. The results showed that there were no differences based on the age of the child, The responses in the behaviors observed are greater in the presence of social stimuli, mainly the doll, compared to the control stimulus and that the behaviors are independent of the temperamental dimensions. This led us to infer that there is jealousy even in children under the age of one.
