Literature recognizes the positive effect that mindfulness has on the individual's quality of life (Keng, Smoski and Robins 2011). Its application in educational contexts has proven to be effective both on cognitive and emotional components (Zenner, Herrnleben-Kurz and Walach, 2014). The aim of this study is to evaluate whether a eight meetings mindfulness lab, conducted in a primary school in Parma, could produce changes in executive and emotional regulation functions in the childrens of the experimental group (N = 20), compared to a control group, who did ordinary didact activities (N = 20). The research included the use of some subtests of the “Batteria italiana per l’ADHD” (Marzocchi, Re and Cornoldi, 2010), the Tower of London (Sannio Fancello, Vio and Cianchetti, 2006) and the Emotional Quotient – Inventory: Youth Version (Sannio Fancello and Cianchetti, 2012). Such instruments were administered in both groups before and after the laboratory. Data emerging from this pilot study, showed that the technique of mindfulness causes an improvement in the attentive skills in the childrens of experimental group, however, there were no significant differences in comparison with the control group.
