Abstract: lto 202 bambini frequentanti la terza, quarta e quinta primaria.
The investigation of writing mechanism and the related errors are common thread of this paper. The paper is divided in three chapters. In the first are treated the models and processes involved in the writing, the physiological basis, the neuropsychological evidences and the development stages of writing. The second chapter provides the deepening of specific learning disorders and especially of Dysgraphia and dysorthography. Finally, the research is treated in the third chapter. The aim of the research is identify possible differences in the processes underlying the silent reading, reading comprehension, naming and phonological representation through visual pathway, between typically developing children and those with writing difficulties and / or other areas. The research was divided in two phases: the first we used the guided observation by the RSR - DSA tool in order to identify the DSA risk (n = 202). In particular, we considered four areas investigated by the instrument: the writing area, the motor-praxis area, the reading area and the language area. The second part is focoused to the evaluation of writing and the identification of the group with writing’s difficulties (n = 46). In this part we used the BHK test. Through the results we were able to respond at the goal of the study. We saw that the writing difficulties do not appear to be overlapped only to motor – praxic aspects. That because the group with writing difficulties obtained significantly worse performance in comparison to the other two groups in of silent reading task, reading comprehension task, naming and phonological representations through visual pathway task. We speculate that in writing difficulties group there could be an impairment in transcoding mechanisms from the words heard or read in the written word in addition to impairment motor – praxis area as reported in literature.
