As a modest contribution to the extremely vast debate about the relationship between antiquity and contemporaneity, past and present, this article deals with three examples of twentieth-century Catullian re-use (in the works of unexpected authors, who are less well-known in the debate on Veronese's reception). Possibly, also in this case, it is more appropriate to talk about eternal immanence rather than survival of the classics in a modern context. |
