With this essay I examine the work of the Croatian artist David Maljković, born in Rijeka, 1973. An artist who, with his way of working has continued to weave relationships with the past, not only of his country but also with the memory of art and history of Italy. Starting from 2008, the year in which I have worked with David Maljković on the occasion of the exhibition entitled Italy Italie Italien Italy Whocky, an exhibition which was designed to give an overview of how international artists perceived and reflected about Italy, the research that bind the artist to our country have intensified until his first solo show in an Italian Museum, Sources in the Air, which inaugurated in October, 2013 at the GAMeC in Bergamo.
