dc.description.abstractThis essay explores some of the intertextual strategies in the Orlando furioso, focusing in particular on intertexts, such as the cantari and Boccaccio's works. My analysis suggests that Ariosto's use of medieval and late medieval models is often connected with a reflection on the role of women within a dynastic structure of power.
