Mine vaganti

Abstract

Il progetto, parzialmente realizzato, riguarda l’idea di “creare” arbitrariamente identità di artisti o critici inesistenti affinché contribuiscano attivamente con la loro professionalità fittizia e programmata a tavolino e si inseriscano nel sistema tramite false opere o falsi interventi o addirittura mostre adeguatamente comunicate e pubblicizzate. Lo scopo è quello di provocare dei cortocircuiti nel sistema dell’arte per sottolineare il sottile confine che esiste tra la realtà e la finzione, ma anche tra ciò che è arbitrario e ciò che appartiene allo specifico sistema dell’arte al fine di dimostrarne la prevedibilità. Il progetto risale al 1987-88 ed è illustrato anche nella pubblicazione intitolata Come si diventa artisti del 1992. Una parziale realizzazione del progetto è stata la creazione, in collaborazione con un team curatoriale, di un’artista inventata che ha realizzato alcune opere e partecipato ad alcune mostre seppur a livello sperimentale.

The projects, partially completed, aimed at creating arbitrarily identities of not existing artists and critics who actively took part to the art system with their pretended and artificial professionalism through fake works and statements or even exhibition well communicated and promoted. The goal was to cause a short circuit in the art system to stress the subtle borderline between reality and fiction, but also between what is arbitrary and what belongs to the specific art system in order to prove its predictability. The projects dates back to 1987-88 and has been described also in the publication How to become an artist in 1992. A partial realisation of the project has been the creation, together with a team of curators, of an invented artist who realised some works and took part to some experimental exhibitions.
