Luce guerra dominio: rappresentazioni urbane

Abstract

Le relazioni tra città, luce e guerra possono essere analizzate come rappresentazione di forme del potere e per verificare ciò è necessario misurarsi con i temi della storia urbana e della tecnologia, ma non si può prescindere, per la natura intrinseca della luce, anche da una valutazione del sistema delle immagini, tenendo quindi conto del ruolo delle ricerche artistiche. In questo intervento, confrontando i percorsi della rappresentazione e del progetto, si intendono sottolineare due elementi: il capovolgimento del punto di vista sulla città, nella prima metà del Novecento, e le forme, spesso mistificatorie, con cui si utilizza la luce per raccontare le città in guerra e le città risorte dopo la guerra, una componente che si verificherà attraverso il caso di studio della città di Parma (1938-1944).

Relationships between cities, war and light can be analyzed as a representation of forms of power. To verify that, we need to take account of issues of urban history and of history of technology, but we can not ignore, for the intrinsic nature of light, even an evaluation of the system of images, also taking into account the role of artistic research. In this paper, comparing the paths of the representation and of the project, we intend to underline two elements: the reversal of views on the city, in the first half of the twentieth century, and forms, often mystifying, with which the light is used to represent towns and cities in war and resurrected after the war, a component that will verified through the case study of the city of Parma (1938-1944).
