This article examines a series of pages focusing on Greece written by a selection of ninenteeth-century French travellers. Showing many aspects of Hellenic life and civilisation, these authors frequently quote from classical sources but also draw upon the writings of earlier travellers, without overlooking several calques from the local language.2018-01-01T00:00:00ZAltri furti boiardeschi (“Inamoramento de Orlando”, II, xxviii)

Title: Altri furti boiardeschi (“Inamoramento de Orlando”, II, xxviii)
Authors: Canova, Andrea
Inoltre le consegne del re saraceno al suo luogotenente paiono fare appello a un comune topos antiforense, presente in molta poesia gnomica precedente e coeva a Boiardo.; Dealing with Matteo Maria Boiardo’s Inamoramento de Orlando, this essay focuses on the section that comes before Agramante’s departure for France (II, xxviii) and suggests new sources. In particular, the drummer’s tirade against inept rulers seems to point to Ventura Monachi’s popular sonnet Se la Fortuna t’à fatto signore, as well as to a passage from Fazio degli Uberti’s Dittamondo (II, xxx). Moreover, the Saracen king’s assignments to his lieutenant seemingly allude to a common anti-forensic topos, the latter being present in numerous gnomic poems preceding and contemporary with Boiardo.2018-01-01T00:00:00ZSources and Analogues: the “Invocacio ad Mariam” in Chaucer’s “The Second Nun’s Prologue”

Title: Sources and Analogues: the “Invocacio ad Mariam” in Chaucer’s “The Second Nun’s Prologue”
Authors: Castro, Enrico
This paper examines the most important textual parallels, particularly the Paradiso written by Dante. A further focus is also the reference to the Latin hymns, although the influence of the Commedia can overshadow their role.2018-01-01T00:00:00ZDante tra Novecento e Duemila: su alcune scritture poetiche contemporanee

Title: Dante tra Novecento e Duemila: su alcune scritture poetiche contemporanee
Authors: Gaiardoni, Chiara
In the poetry of the second half of the twentieth century and the first years of the twenty-first century, allusions to Dante are rather frequent and can be divided into two different groups. On the one hand, we find Vittorio Sereni and Fabio Pusterla. They are both connected with the Lombard area which, focusing on the object, draws heavily on the realism of the Commedia. More recently, instead, poets such as Rosaria Lo Russo and Guido Caserza, have aimed at parody and rewriting.2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
